On: The Body #1

The First Us

The first “us” is me and my body:-

we are inseparable, in so many

obvious ways

The body suffers
The whole being suffers
The body is light
The whole being is lifted.

Just as there is no break between
me and my body,
so is there no break between my body
and the material universe

My body is the universe that is closest to me
It represents the Whole because it
is
part of the Whole...

There is no wall between the surroundings
and the body...

“The wind blows against my skin”
“The sun's rays make me sweat”

The plants that grow in the earth
come inside me as food
their atoms become part of my cells

We are, an “Us”

The first “Thought of Freedom” begins with
the universality of the body.

That the extent of the body is the extent of me.

Where is the line that divides me from my
food?
One could say “the process of digestion”
But this is not my first meal... the
cells that process digestion are themselves
the result of digestion.

A plant that nourished me before now
breaks down the food in my stomach

The sound that nourished my ears
had an origin
that exists in my history.

Where do I begin, where do I
end?
My history stretches back to the
emanation of the first sound...
because in that sound was my potential.

What is mine? And not-mine?
If you are me
and I am you

Your potential fills my existance
with another possibility

You are a new world
Your histroy
expands my lifetime.
